Traditional funnel teachings can be considered "toxic" due in part to their use of toxic marketing, including BRO MARKETING, OVER-TEMPLATIZING, Psychology TRICKS, MANIPULATION, false scarcity, INAUTHENTICITY, AND A LACK OF THE CLIENTS BEST INTEREST.
How to spot it: IT OFTEN LOOKS AND SOUNDS THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE AND FEELS ARTIFICIAL. You may feel an immediate urge to buy out of scarcity, urgency, fomo, bloated promises, or Loss Aversion.
Run the other way!
Years ago, when I got into marketing, I was immediately pulled into the ClickFunnels “Cult-ure,” as they call it.
(Yes, they say that)
I was addicted.
I signed up for their software tool ($97 – $297 pm) without having a product, audience, or clue what I was doing.
Their marketing made me believe I was “One Funnel Away” from millions.
So, I started learning all about funnels.

- One time offers
- Upsells
- Downsells
- Order Bumps
- Sales pages
- Landing pages
- Squeeze pages
- Opt-in pages
- Funnel Hacking
- Webinars
Then I started learning all about copywriting, persuasion, and psychology.
“Because that’s the only way to convince people to pull out their credit cards.”
- Scarcity
- Urgency
- Loss Aversion
- Play off your buyer’s FOMO
- Leverage emotion
- And so on…
I studied all this stuff and started buying programs to learn it.
But it never really clicked for me.
I felt like I was manufacturing a product-market fit and losing my soul along the way.
I did all the worksheets to try and understand my ideal client.
“know the customer better than they know themselves.”
Ya know, “my clients like orange mocha frappuccinos on Sundays while wearing red shoes.”
Only once you’ve done a SHIT ton of market research will you be able to sell…. 
It was exhausting!
These programs and their teachings manipulate YOU, into manipulating your people.
It forces you to change your energy and words. You start overthinking and overengineering.
It’s not sustainable and will likely lead to you giving up 1-2 months in.
Then, I finally learned about bro marketing and all the toxicity that was being perpetuated in the online marketing / coaching world.
I started ignoring anyone that looked or sounded at all like a bro marketer.
I didn’t want the same old shit. You can smell it from miles away and it turns me off!
Instead, I started following people who were embodying heart-centered marketing.
